Ciara Princess Harris was born October 25, 1985 in Austin, Texas, professionally known as "Ciara" or called "Cici". Her name, Ciara is of Irish origin and means black or dark. She is of African American, Creole, Native American, German and Irish ancestry, though this has not been directly quoted by her.
Ciara Princess Harris is the only child of Carlton and Jackie Harris. She grew up on army bases in Germany, New York, Utah, California, Arizona, and Nevada, since her father Carlton was in the United States Army. During her teens, Ciara and her family settled in Atlanta.
Ciara Princess Harris said that watching Destiny's Child perform on a television program while staying home from school inspired her to pursue a career in music. Then, Ciara joined a girl group called "Hearsay" and worked on her songwriting. The group recorded demos, but began to have differences. Eventually, she left the group, got a publishing deal, and found a 'musical soulmate' when she met producer Jazze Pha. Ciara graduated from Riverdale High School in Riverdale, Georgia in 2003 and was signed by LaFace Records executive L.A. Reid with the help of Jazze Pha. She began production on her debut album. Ciara co-wrote a demo with songwriter Sean Garrett, who was co-writer of Usher's international hit 'Yeah!?.
Ciara Princess Harris made her debut in the summer of 2004 with the "Billboard" number-one single 'Goodies'. The album "Goodies" was released the fourth quarter of 2004 and first quarter of 2005. It produced three top two singles on the Billboard Hot 100, selling over 2.6 million in the U.S., and three million worldwide, and earned various awards and nominations.
Ciara's second album, "Ciara: The Evolution", was released in December 2006. It has spawned the hit singles 'Get Up', 'Promise', and 'Like a Boy'. The album has sold nearly two million copies worldwide. In August 2007 she headlined the Screamfest '07 tour with fellow rapper, T.I.. Ciara along with Chris Brown and Akon, was a support act for Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad Tour in the United Kingdom.
In October 2008 Ciara was honored as Billboard's "Woman of the Year", because of her success as a recording artist and leadership in embracing the changing music business. In the October issue of Vibe Magazine, Ciara appeared to be naked on the magazine's cover but she has stated that Vibe airbrushed her clothes off to make it appear she was completely nude. Ciara told MTV News she was hurt by the photos and was quite shocked when she finally got her hands on the month's issue. She later confirmed that she was in fact clothed.
The album's lead single, "Never Ever" (featuring Young Jeezy), was released in the United States in January 2009 and reached a peak of number nine on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The second single, "Love Sex Magic" (featuring Justin Timberlake), became a worldwide hit, reaching within the top ten in eleven countries including the U.S., where it peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
In February 2010, rapper Ludacris released a remix to his single "How Low" which had Ciara as a featured artist alongside Miami rapper Pitbull. In March 2010 Ciara made a cameo appearance in the music video of Usher's single, "Lil' Freak". Her fourth studio album Basic Instinct was released in December 2010. Basic Instinct debuted at number forty-four on the US Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 37,000 copies.
"Ride", which features Ludacris, was released as the album's lead single on April 26, 2010. It peaked at number forty-two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number three on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and number seventy-five on the UK Singles Chart. It became Ciara's twelfth top-ten R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and R&B/Hip-Hop Songs hit. The song won the award for "Best Dance Performance" at the 2010 Soul Train Music Awards.
In November 2010 Ciara travelled to Australia to be part of the Summerbeatz tour alongside Flo Rida, Jay Sean, Akon, Travie McCoy and Ja Rule.
In February 2011, following rumors that Ciara had been dropped by Jive Records, she released an official statement to her Facebook page complaining of inadequate promotion and funding from the label.
For her personal life, in 2003, Ciara began dating rapper Bow Wow. They ended their relationship in April 2006. A rumor linking her to Miami Heat star LeBron James in January was denied.

Ciara Princess Harris met Amare Stoudemire because Carmelo Antony’s wife Lala Vazquez. Lala Vazquez introduced Amare to the pop singer Ciara Princess Harris and they seem a perfect couple. Daily Mail said that Ciara Princess Harris and Amare Stoudemire were seen together at the same restaurant, with the private table and at other Meatpacking hot spots.

Ciara is best friends with LaLa and has been attending Knicks games with her, including Monday’s game. Through Melo and LaLa, her friendship with Amar’e has developed. They have been seen out together on numerous occasions. So it isn’t a weird thing if Ciara attended in New Yorks Knick’s game.
